Since 2015, Stuttgart-based duo Mondo Sangue is producing music inspired by Italian genre films of the sixties and seventies, carrying this unique legacy into the present. Composer Christian Bluthardt (aka Bluthardino) and singer Yvy Pop met in the video store Filmgalerie 451 and founded the band project Mondo Sangue, dedicated to the soundtracks of fictional B-movies of the Italian cinema of the 1960s and 1970s. The name is a reference to the exploitation films of the 1960s and 1970s in Italy. In 2016, Mondo Sangue released the first soundtrack to the (fictional) cannibal film L'Isola dei Dannati (The Island of the Damned) as a limited vinyl edition. Musically, the debut album takes its cue from composer Riz Ortolani and his soundtrack to the controversial exploitation film "Naked and Mauled" (original title: "Cannibal Holocaust") by Ruggero Deodato, as well as Nico Fidenco, who, in addition to his score for the 1977 exploitation trilogy "Black Emmanuelle", released another production with leading actress Laura Gemser as "Emmanuelle" under the title "Naked Among Cannibals" (Emanuelle e gli ultimi cannibali). In 2018, No Place for a Man (Il Villaggio delle Donne - The Village of Women) followed as a tribute to the Italian spaghetti western and its iconographic film score by composers Ennio Morricone, Bruno Nicolai, Stelvio Cipriani and Francesco de Masi. On No Place for a Man, singer and drummer Bela B., among others, makes a cameo appearance on the duet of the same name un
