There are two bands with this name, one American and one Brazilian. The Brazilian: (new video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE2dvIa00ng) Around 2003, Herik invited Ayuso to form a band: the idea was to play the songs from Ayuso's latest projects (Bionic Shoes and Estéreo). Sometime later, they decided to put an ad in a music mall, looking for a bass player. Gualter called and they met to rehearse. - Monaural was born. The first rehearsals tooke place in a dark, warm and low-tuned room located in the underground of Herik's godmother, Miss Adelaide. It was in that room that they played together tirelessly to compose part of their first - and homonym - play, launched in an independent way by the band the same year. In 2005, Monaural launched their second work, the EP "Farsa". Receiving a better acceptance from the underground public, they achieved a better penetration inside the scene. The band played in many rock'n'roll clubs in São Paulo and in the country, like Outs, Funhouse, Clube Berlin, Matrix, and many others. In 2006, Fernando Saiki, from the band Forte Apache became the lead guitarrist - they turned into a quartet. That year, they took turns between concerts and rehearsals and started to compose some material for what would come to be their first album. In 2007, Saiki left the band - forcing a new period of adaptation and reorganization; the band went back to the power-trio form and started to create other new songs.
