Written by Debbie Lunsford Yates daughter of Mona Lunsford Mona Lunsford was born Monila Eveline Linville on July 25, 1917 to John P. Linville and Fleety Mae Williams. The Linville family originated from Logan County, Kentucky. The Williams family was from Winston County, Alabama. Mona was born in Earle, Arkansas, where the families of her mother and father had settled just prior to 1910. The Linville family was one of the earliest families to settled in Earle. John P. Linville was a blacksmith. Earle, Arkansas, a small farming town, is located 35 miles from Memphis, and in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. Mona was influenced by the blues, the music that was predominant in the rural area where she was born and grew up. She was married to Allison R. Lunsford, also of Earle, Arkansas, in 1951. She and Allison raised their family on a farm, 5 miles north of Earle, in the Three Forks community. Mona wrote both the songs, "I'm Getting Restless" and "You're No Warden", that are featured on this website. These two songs were recorded at Van Deck studio, owned by Sonny Deckelmann, about 1967. Along with these two songs, she also wrote numerous others. None of her other songs were ever recorded, with the exception of "My Little Jimmy" that was recorded by Wanda Jackson, on 78 RPM record, about 1961 or 1962. The song, "My Little Jimmy" was written for my brother, Jimmy Lunsford, who died in May of 1966. Mona Lunsford passed away on December 2, 1992 in Wynne, Arkansas. She is
