Mohammad-Ali Sepanlou Mohammad Ali Sepanlou (محمد علی سپانلو - born in Tehran November 20, 1940) is an Iranian poet and literary critic.[1][2] He has been a co-founder, a member of the executive board, and editor of the journal of the Writers Association of Iran, in which capacity has opposed both the former regime of Shah Mohammad-Rezā Shāh Pahlavi and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, speaking out against censorship.[1][3][4] Sepanlou received his diploma from Dar ul-Funun high school. He graduated from Tehran University’s Faculty of Law in 1963. He is the father of singer Shahrzad Sepanlou.
