The Mix n Blend are four, sometimes three, and often two individuals based in Cape Town, South Africa, who like to play lots of different styles of music, drink lots of different styles of Jagermeister and other beverages, and employ many different styles of combining these pastimes into the early hours of the morning (with what they’d like to think in their often not so sober state, is some kind of style). The individuals are Jonathan Arnold, Kevin Ribbans, Ben Lewis and Ross Finck. Expect everything from funk to soul to swing to reggae to dancehall to breaks to drum n bass – you get the picture - they cut it up, mixing and blending with the help of a kaoss pad 3 and a roland-sp606. Whether it’s stomping around in the woods and tweaking frequencies at outdoor events such as Earthdance and Origin, bouncing around on stage at Obs Fest or raiding the fiction and mystic bars for tequila between tracks, their main aim is to basically have as much fun as possible, while staying upright.. They’ve played alongside freq nasty, krafty kuts, q bert, honeyb and markus intalex; outdoor parties Origin, Insanity, Vortex, Soundsquad and Earthdance; and done gigs at Marvel, Joburg bar, Mystic Boer, Waiting Room, Zula, Fiction, Orchard bank and Julep.
