Mitt Eget Band is a four piece rock band from Finnmark in Norway. The band was formed by lead singer Øystein Holsbø and Guitarist Sveinung Sveis Ovesen in December 2004. Øystein and Sveinung quickly found two more bandmates to join them after talking with friends and neigbhours in their town. The two bandmembers was Drummer Mia Cecilie Jenssen And Bass player, Tommy Viekonelo. Not Long after they formed, they started to make a name out of themselves in the local Newspapers and nearby towns by their strong opinions about the society and about being indipendent individuals. After many quality shows in 2004 they began to write their own songs in 2005! October 2005 was the date their first songs was released to the public wich embraced them with love. One of their songs, Et Bedre sted, became the number one party song on the national "Lene V" christmas gathering in Norway because of its brilliant lyrics and its half pop'ish sound. The band is currently on a break from each other wich have lasted over several months, but they are planning to begin to play togerher and write new material real soon! Some may know of "mitt Eget Band" as "D.A.D - Drink And Drive" wich was the original band name they had, before switching the name in the middle of 2005!
