Artist
Born and raised in New York City, Mitch, a self-taught musician, began performing professionally in 1971 in Ithaca, N.Y., but soon moved on to Chicago where his original jazz and blues compositions blended with the Latin rhythm section of the "New Earth Rhythm Band." They were regulars on the home-grown music scene at the Quiet Knight and Wise Fools Pub, playing clubs and colleges throughout the Midwest, later recording on the first Best Of Chicago Hometown album. In 1978 he moved to Long Island where he joined forces with legendary guitarist Mike Barnett to form the Street Stompers and later teamed up with Little Buster And The Soul Brothers, a top LI R&B group. Mitch's harp playing and vocals performed in front of audiences from NYC to the Hamptons. In addition he has done session work with Ritchie Blackmore and performed shows and jammed with the likes of BB King, Rick Danko and Paul Butterfield, Levon Helm, Johnny Winter, Albert King, Elvin Bishop and Muddy Waters.
