Mitchell Scott "Mitch" Hewer (born July 1, 1989 in Bristol) is an English actor, who currently plays Maxxie Oliver, an openly gay character, in the E4 teen drama, Skins. He currently studies at SWADA (South West Academy of Dramatic Arts)and appeared in the music video The Club by Lisa Morgan. Mitch was at T4 on the Beach with other cast members of Skins. Mitch Hewer is already a popular young actor who has confirmed that he will be reappearing with a more prominent part for his character in the next series of Skins. Hewer appeared on the cover of the March and October 2007 issues of gay lifestyle magazine Attitude, where the magazine did a "Gays on TV" feature which included stars from Skins, Hollyoaks, Coronation Street and Shameless. Some viewers felt that Hewer did not get enough screen time in Series 1, and Skins creator, Jamie Brittain has confirmed that in Series 2 Mitch will get a lot more screen time, saying, "I’m happy to report that Mitch gets a lot more screen time this year, especially in the first few episodes of series 2. It was confirmed on Skincast (a weekly podcast devoted to the show) that although his Skins character Maxxie is gay, Mitch, however is not He then went on to star in ITV1 show Britannia High.
