Miriam Baumann graduated in Piano from the Milan Conservatory “G. Verdi,” before continuing her studies in Paris at the Conservatoire Européen with Maestro Fidler and later with Maestro György Cziffra. Following her experience in France, she devoted herself to the study of harpsichord, studying for four years with Maestro Ottavio Dantone at the Lugano Conservatory, and subsequently with Laura Alvini and Ruggero Laganà. She earned her second diploma at the Milan Conservatory. An active chamber musician, she has collaborated with distinguished artists such as Sherban Lupu Sirbu, Chiarappa, Sigrist, and Norbert Brainin of the Amadeus Quartet. Alongside her instrumental training, she pursued advanced studies in vocal repertoire, specializing in Italian music with Daniela Uccello and in French and German repertoire with Fidler, obtaining her third diploma at the Conservatory. Her principal artistic focus is the cultivated repertoire of Central and South America. She is recognized as one of the first European interpreters to champion composers such as Francisco Mignone, Camargo Guarnieri, Claudio Santoro, Carlos Guastavino, Ernesto Nazareth, and Marlos Nobre. The Italian twentieth-century repertoire and contemporary music also hold a prominent place in her concert career. She has premiered works by Pasquotti, Greenbaum, Bonetti Amendola, and Ennio Morricone, performing in Italy and internationally.
