Mircea Tiberian (b. 4 May 1955) is a Romanian jazz musician. Born in Cluj, he moved to Sibiu and then to Bucharest in 1975. His debut at Sibiu Jazz Festival was in 1974. 1979 - 1981 works at Ion Vasilescu Musical Theatre (Bucharest) 1981 - 1984 studio musician, arrager 1984 - 1986 co-leader of Mircea Tiberian - Liviu Butoi Quartet 1986 - 1989 is part of Opus 4 band with Dan Mandrila, Nicolae (Nicolas) Simion, Catalin Rotaru, Billy Bontas, Eugen Nichiteanu 1989 - 1990 the leader of Labirint trio 1990 - 1993 member of Romanian Big Band in 1990 founded the jazz department at [National University of Music Bucharest]. in 1998 is co-founder of Interzone Jazz Orchestra in 2003 he was part of the Contemporary Quartet with Theo Jörgensmann, Marcin Oleś and Bartłomiej Oleś.
