An unexpected craze of energy comes hurtling full force from the stage and you once again feel the tingle of excitement in your gut that you remember having a long, long time ago when music was fresh, RAW, enthusiastic and energetic! This is the sound of Ming Ming and The Ching Chings. With their Debut Single released July 2009 through Badly Built Records the band are already gathering a pack of hungry for-more-followers eager to feast on the tunes the band describe as a hybrid of Rockabilly, Devious Disco and Psycho Pop!! The Single - lead track “Show Off” and featuring B-side “O.U.T in the West of Scotland” – was recorded and produced by Thomas McNeice (El Presidente / Gang of Four) and boasts influences such as The Fall, The Cramps, ESG, 70’S Theme Tunes and Elvis Presley. Ming Ming (Vocals/Guitar), Chet (Percussion/Sax), Davie (Drums) and Gee (Bass) have an obvious mischievous magic on stage and certainly know how to cause a stir in the somewhat boring play-by numbers music scene. The band played their first gig at the end of 2007 in Bar Bloc, Glasgow. Since then the band have been asked to play Glasgow’s legendary Optimo Club held at the Sub Club; King Tuts Wah Wah Hut and various club nights around Scotland. As part of the Glasgow International Art Fair 2008 Japanese artist Tomoko Takahashi requested a collaboration with the band.
