Rhythmic, violent and headstrong - are how one could best describe noise/ebm band Mindware. Mindware are: former DJ, A.J.F. Barian on vocals and Axel Kleintjes, the prolific mastermind behind such bands as Page 12, Megadump, Cyber Axis, The Amp & Cycloon as lead writer & programmer. The band was initially devised in Spring, 1999 in Germany. Until the Summer of 2001 Mindware was a 'secret' project which Alex only worked on sporadically in between other projects. Then in the Summer of 2001 he decided to post some of the early material on the internet to gauge interest. This lead to positive contact with the label Error315 Records who proposed the idea of issuing those songs on a split CD. Instead, that rapidly bloomed into the full length CD and debut album, Warm Places, which was released in July of 2002. That summer the band conducted a club tour of Germany and the Netherlands to promote the album. The label was pleasantly surprised by the degree that the album was unexpectedly embraced by the media and the public. The songs 'Dive Into Me' and 'mother' quickly worked their way into steady rotation on the dance floors of the major industrial cities. And then came 'on earth'. This song appeared in rough draft form shortly after recording concluded on Warm Places but prior to their first concerts on the tour.
