What started as a project, a musical story of life-cycle: 12 chapters consisting of the 12 steps in a person perspective of life, soon became much more. This idea formed into an album and was entitled Rebirth. The original album was written and composed by childhood friends - Oded Kahn, former member of the Israeli Rock band Pai Mei, and Omri Luzon, former member of the Israeli Metal band Tears of Israel. By the end of 2007 recordings of Rebirth started at Sound Music School in Tel-Aviv, Israel. Soon enough, it was apparent that the result was less than satisfactory due to production issues. After a short break it was decided to restart the entire project and form a band by searching for more professional musicians. Shortly after drummer Efi Tubi joined, a few months later bassist Erez Shermer, also a former member of the band Pai Mei and Limor Ballas, joined the band. Due to artistic differences Efi left the band and after a long process of auditioning, Adi Magal - former drummer of Low Profile, joined the band, forming the current line-up of Mindless Echoes.
