Artist
Emerging out of the 1990s Alternative Cabaret scene in London, Mindless Drug Hoover gained his name when a demo called the Mindless Drug Hoover EP found its way to Rob Deacon at Volume recordings. Rob said it was a great name and do you want to release The Reefer Song on my compilation CD? A hidden bonus track on Volume 8, the Reefer Song got airplay on Triple J in Australia leading to a single release there, reaching number 12 in the Triple J Hottest 100 in 1995. An album Top Banana followed in 1997. After appearing on the comedy circuit for a year, including sets at Glastonbury 1995, Mindless took up a job as a cycle courier and rode off into obscurity.
