Military Road is a Progressive Rock band From Cape Town, South Africa. After acquiring their first electronic instruments, Ricci and Kristian Gerstner set about jamming together and writing music. At first it was your average pop-rock style music, but by combining various influences and their personal emotions with their classically trained musical talents, Ricci and Kristian started writing the style of Music that would eventually become Military Road. Military Road officially launched in February 2008. The line up at the time was: Ricci Gerstner - Keyboard/vocals Kristian Gerstner - Guitar/vocals Wouter De Vos - Guitar Jeff Norman - Drums Hans Lamprecht - Bass Soon after, Wouter departed. He was replaced by a string of likely guitarists, none of which stayed for a great length of time. And with the removal of Hans from bass guitar, Military Road played a succession of shows as a four piece band with two guitarists and no bass. After many months of hunting, the solution to Military Road's problems was found in the source of Jacques Tredoux on bass guitar. Jacques became the bands star bass guitarist and sound engineer, mixing and mastering the two recordings of "Sell your soul" and "Saints". Yet performances with Jacques ended abruptly, as he was whisked away to New Zealand for study reasons. At the same time Jeff Norman left for the UK to go on a gap year. This left Ricci and Kristian to do a set of acoustic duo shows to keep their love of performing satisfied.
