Midnight Odyssey is a one man atmospheric black metal/ambient band from Queensland, Australia. Dis Pater (ex-Tempestuous Fall, ex-The Crevices Below, ex-Aeon Winds) started the project in 2007. Midnight Odyssey will likely appeal to fans of Evilfeast, Summoning, Alrakis, Sear Bliss and/or Astral Silence. Midnight Odyssey was officially formed in early 2007. Dis Pater, the sole member of the project, began writing black metal oriented music in 1999, and home recorded many songs between the years 2001 and 2007. Though these recordings were never officially pressed (and never will be), they led to a creative output that would eventually cement itself as Midnight Odyssey. Some recordings were made under the Midnight Odyssey and Fires Light The Sky names and made public via the internet in 2007. In 2008, the first album, “The Forest Mourners” was recorded and released as a self-funded Pro CD-r limited to 100 copies. Later in the year, it would officially be made available for a free download for a limited time. In 2009, the second album, “Firmament” was recorded. Like “The Forest Mourners”, it was made available as a free download for a limited time, as well as being pressed as a Pro CD-r limited to 100 copies. It was during this year that Kunsthauch Records approached Dis Pater to re-release “The Forest Mourners”. A new logo was created by Nachtzeit (Lustre, Starlit).
