Since the demise of the iconic WEDDINGS PARTIES ANYTHING in 1998, MICK THOMAS has barely taken his foot off the pedal for a moment - whether working solo, with his fine band THE SURE THING or on any amount of soundtracks and side projects. Mick has kept busy with his own label, CROXTON RECORDS, there's been numerous tours of the UK and Europe, China, Vietnam and North America, not to mention a fine list of independently released albums and now two albums for LIBERATION RECORDS. In 2006 Mick released PADDOCK BUDDY - a record hailed by critics and fans alike as brimming with heartfelt tales of "everyday life and the mysteries inside everyone" - certainly his finest work to date post WPA. Late 2006 saw WEDDINGS PARTIES ANYTHING come out of retirement for one headline appearance at the Queenscliff Festival - a show filmed and recorded by Madman Pictures as part of a DVD to be released by early 2008. Mick has been heavily involved in the careers of many other Australian acts such as The Gadflys, The Re-mains, The Waifs, Darren Hanlon, Ruby Hunter, Nick Barker and The Vandas. Add to this his theatre work on the productions OVER IN THE WEST, THE TANK and RUN RABBIT RUN, his musical contribution to the stunning ABC website (also called DUST ON MY SHOES), sountracks for tele documentaries SHACKS, THE REAL WATER RATS, THE END OF THE GAME and LEFT LUGGAGE and his claims as a constant creative presence are substantial.
