There are three musicians by the name of Michael Murray. 1) Michael Murray, the organist, was considered America's premiere classical organist during the 1970s-1990s. He is now retired although he still plays on occasion at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to being a musician, Murray is also a published author, his best-known work being a biography of his mentor & teacher, Marcel Dupré. Murray has recorded well over 20 albums, most on the Telarc label. His best selling album is "Bach Organ Blaster" a compilation of tracks performed on famous organs throughout the world. Murray began his professional career in 1968-69 by performing Bach's complete organ works in a series of 12 recitals in Cleveland. His European debut also consisted of a Bach recital. 2) Michael Murray, the classical guitarist, is an active performer and teacher in the cities of Ottawa and Montreal. He holds degrees from the University of Ottawa, the Hochschule fuer Musik Franz Liszt; Weimar, Germany and the Hochschule fuer Musik Koeln; Cologne, Germany. His teachers have included Bruce Holzman (USA), Patrick Roux (Canada), Thomas Mueller-Pering (Germany) and Zoran Dukic (Croatia). He has performed in Canada, USA, Germany, Netherlands, Czech Republic and Russia. 3) Michael Murray, the rocker, is a rocker.
