Michael Kleniec

Michael Kleniec (pronounced Klen-i-etz) is a classically trained musician and teacher who is also an accomplished Jazz Guitarist. He has eight albums to his credit, and has performed his own classical guitar compositions on television and with the CBC orchestra on radio. He has had three books of original compositions published by Berandol Music Ltd. and Gamelon Music Publications and has performed extensively in Canada and the U.S. Michael's interest in East Indian Classical music began during the mid '70s when he met Balbir Singh Bhangu (a noted East Indian Vocalist) while on an extended tour throughout western Canada sponsored by the British Colombia Community Arts Council. At that time he was already a celebrated musician and composer. It was Balbir Singh Bhangu who taught Michael Sandskrit music notation.
