Michael Kiedaisch was born in Stuttgart in 1962. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart (majoring in percussion under Prof. Tresselt). He began as a percussionist in various bands in the Stuttgart jazz scene. During and after his studies his concert activity focused increasingly on contemporary music (Ensemble Avance, Percussion Ensemble Stuttgart, Piano & Percussion, Gelber Klang, SurPlus, etc.). Ever since, he has been at home in both jazz and New Music. He has performed on tours and radio, television, and CD productions with the Percussion Ensemble Stuttgart, the ensemble Piano & Percussion, and various orchestras. He is also active as a composer and performer of incidental music for a variety of theatrical productions in Germany and Switzerland, such as "Phänomene im Kühlturm" (1997), "Percussiv" (1999), and "Hamlet ruft" (2003). Since 2001 he is a percussionist in Mike Svoboda’s Adult Entertainment and his quartet DJ Cherubino. In 2003 Kiedaisch played the première of Svoboda’s "Reflective Structures" for string orchestra and solo percussion. Kiedaisch is lecturer at the Universität Witten-Herdecke and at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart (Jazz vibraphone). His own projects include, for example, his “Trieau” (with Mike Svoboda and Eberhard Hahn, Water Mirror CD) and "Schubertiade", an arrangement of Schubert’s "Winterreise" (CD on Peregrina Music). https://www.schott-music.com/en/person/index/index/urlkey/michael-kiedaisch User-contributed text is available un
