Artist
Michael Fink is an aspiring musician from Concord, North Carolina. If Concord sounds somewhat familiar, it's because that's where the Avett Brothers are from. Anyway, Michael spends most of his time either listening to or playing music. He began playing the trumpet while in the 7th grade, and the tuba in the 9th grade. He also began playing bass guitar in the 7th grade, and shortly thereafter began picking up drumset. When he was a senior in high school, he took an introductory music theory class, for which he had to write a sonata as a final exam. Thus, he wrote his only full composition to date - a piano piece entitled "Glass Case Emotion." After graduating, Michael went to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to study Music Education, with an instrumental focus in tuba. After three semesters of that, he discovered that studying music was not really what he thought it would be. After "dropping out" of college, he found himself falling in love with music all over again with a new respect for nearly all genres. Michael plays bass every Sunday for two services in his hometown church. If he could play any style of music for the rest of his life, it would be bluegrass.
