Metafuzz is an experimental/alternative rock band from Mol, Belgium. The band name is a composition of the words ‘meta’ and ‘fuzz’. Together they stand for ‘supernatural chaos’. In the autumn of 2008, singer/guitarist Pieter Van Vaerenbergh from the coverband ‘D-Fact’ and drummer Gert Geukens from the band ‘Ronny’s Exchange Booth’ at that time, were both looking for a new musical challenge. Pieter had already been writing some songs on his own and was trying to find the right musicians to work with. As they met each other more often at parties, their ideas slowly became reality. After a while, they came together for a jam session. This session turned out to be a success, so the musicians started focusing on their new project. The only thing they still needed now was a bass player. That’s why Gert introduced the guitarist from his former band to Pieter. After proving himself as bassist, Kristof Dhallé was added to the band right away. A new modern rock band was born... The trio now began to experiment with Pieter’s songs. Although there was no time pressure, they quickly began to make a lot of progress. Later on they added an electronic touch to their existing rock sound. This is what gives the band such a unique feel. Early 2009, the band’s playlist of songs began to grow bit by bit. Besides many ideas, they started to concentrate on specific songs they wanted to play live. Later that year, they played their first live shows. Source: www.metafuzz.be User-contributed tex
