MESSIAH are a 5 piece Indie Rock band from Edinburgh. Formed in November 2009, the band are heavily influenced by british bands such as Oasis, The Stone Roses, Verve and Kasabian. Since forming, the band have been busy writing and recording material for their debut album 'Synesthesia' which is due for release in 2011 and will be available on all major download sites. In October 2010 the band fought of thousands of entrants to claim UK & Ireland competition 'The St Helier Rock Music Crown' with their track 'Out Of Sight' winning best single through the public vote. The following month the band also made it into the finals of local competition 'Edinburghs Got Talent' playing in front of 1000 people although were unsuccesful and felt misplaced on the night. Since then Messiah has caught the interest of management companies looking to further produce the band although have failed to come to a financial agreement and still remain unsigned under their own management. The band have been doing live performances in and around Edinburgh/Glasgow and are planning to arrange some dates across the UK once the album is released. Messiah believe the music scene is going backwards in the UK and strive to resurrect the sound of the 90's whilst applying a modern day twist.
