It began with the hobby of each of its member in music. On 22 October 2002 in Banjarsari, Rani (Vocal), Andi (Rhythm/Back vocal), Lies (Guitar), Ayus (Bass), Boegil (Drum) agreed to form a band. The name, MERPATI (DOVE), was chosen since it can fly high and is a symbol of loyalty, in line with the band's vision and mission to encourage loyalty and peace. They also hope that the chemistry and loyalty between the band members remain solid. In their debut album, MERPATI Band presents 10 songs, recorded by Baron at the Colosseum studio, with additional keyboard by R. Agung of STAY Band.
