about

Meretto combine the vim and vigour of the Jam and the Clash with the ambitious textures of Marilion and Genesis. Meretto formed in Reading in 2003 and have since moved to London, the city which inspired their debut album “Chainsaw Art” (2005), produced by John Mitchell (Enter Shikari, You Me At Six, Funeral For A Friend, Justin Hawkins, It Bites and Kino). Meretto’s second album “Street Talking” (2010) was produced by Dan Swift (Art Brut, Future Heads, Snow Patrol). Stu Bell (guitar and vocals) and Matt Burgess (bass and vocals) have come a long way since their earliest incarnation as a two piece and drum machine – four drummers later they regularly play shows and record as three piece with session drummer Steve Hughes. Meretto are currently touring around the London area and working on their third self-titled album due out in May/June. A new EP will be released on the 9th April 2012, available at iTunes and all major download sites.
