Melting Records is name given to a means of moving music, from basements and garages and bedrooms where its made, to you, the listener. It is a way to get music to people who thirst for it. Music that is true and uncensored. Music that is free from commercial aspirations but not free from human nature. Melting Records is for rebels, punks, folkies, junkies, audiophiles, hipsters and you. Melting Records have only a few stipulations as a label. First off, all of their artist keep the rights to their work. Melting Records doesn't "sign" artist to do a certain amount of albums or any such non-sense and if after an EP a band goes to a "real" label they can take their music with them. No hard feelings. The only aim for Melting Records is to spread music and help the bands support themselves. Second, EVERYTHING at Melting Records is self produced. They do not have a "professional" studio nor will they put a band in one. Melting Records is heavily based in the DIY ethic. If material is not made by the artist themselves, it will be recorded by someone at Melting. Mistakes do not happen. Art does. Melting Records is based in Westland, MI and is helmed by Jason Bombach.
