1. Mellows is a Japanese kawaii metal band formed in 2023, known for creating a unique blend of metal and pop, which they refer to as "Cute Metal." Their music combines sweet and catchy melodies with heavy, guitar-driven sounds. The band is signed to Mashup Records. The group is led by Masui Mio (増井みお), former member of PASSPO☆ (ぱすぽ☆) and BabooBee, who handles vocals and is responsible for much of the band's visual direction, including costumes and design. Sally, the band's guitarist, is also a member of the band LOC and an official artist for Dean Guitars Japan. GINA, who also plays guitar, is involved in BabBubble and 囁揺的音楽集団AsMR. Mellows made their debut in October 2023 with the digital release of their single Rabbit Love it!, which topped the iTunes Metal Top Songs chart in Japan. This was followed by the release of the single Mikansei in November. In June 2024, Mellows released their first full album, Alloy, featuring 10 tracks, including their previous hits. 2. Mellows was a short-lived musical project from Ann Arbor, Michigan, active between 2009 and 2010. The band was made up of Matt Gilles on vocals and guitar, Peter Wiley (also known as Subvader) on keyboards and vocals, Claire Baker on vocals and percussion, and Cory Levinson (known as Kohwi) on drums.
