Melissa Savčić is a singer/songwriter and a band with an enchanting, ethereal sound that blends sweet acoustic melodies with catchy indie-pop hooks. Savčić, originally from Venezuela has been writing songs since she was fifteen. When she moved from Venezuela to Houston, Texas in 2007 she kept playing music in her living room without any thought of ever making it a career. Her encouragement came from posting her first YouTube video in 2008 and noticing the support. Savčić wanting to take her passion for music to the next level, decided to hold online auditions for lead guitarist, bass and drums finding talented Chris Garver, Craig Nelson and Andre Berry who have taken her music to a bigger electric sound. The band’s debut album, Walking into the Sunset released in 2010, is a creative and poignant fusion of alt-rock and acoustic pop. Some of the most notable songs on the album are “I’m Not That Girl" and “Losing It”. Savčić writes all the songs with her Taylor guitar and considers them anti-folk with lyrics that are not only written in English but also in Spanish and French. “My songs are about my life, however I am feeling at the moment. I grab my guitar and make up a song about it” said Savčić about Walking Into the Sunset. “I sometimes think I hide behind my songs; use them to say things I cannot say to someone in person. If you impact my life in some way, I’ll write a song about you.” The name of the album comes from the first comment Melissa Savčić received on YouTube
