Artist
Melissa Lusk was born in Brooklyn, NY and was transplanted very early to suburban Massachusetts, where she sang in the church choir and studied jazz and musical theater. She received a BFA in Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where she began writing music and exploring New York's downtown music scene. Her influences include Ben Folds, Ella Fitzgerald, Regina Spektor, Louis Armstrong, Billy Joel, The Beatles, Jamie Cullum, the writing of Cole Porter and Rodgers & Hart, and a whole lot of contemporary christian pop from her childhood. Since recording her first songs in the summer of 2007, Melissa has been creating a quiet following through sharing CDs of her music with friends and encouraging them to do the same.
