Melis Bilen was born in December 10, 1985 in Istanbul, Turkey. She graduated from Darussafaka High School and then Sabanci University as a Manufacturing Systems Engineer in 2008. After her graduation, she decided to be professionally involved in music rather than engineering. In her childhood, Melis sang in elementary school choirs, gave her first concert in TRT Radio. She continued with school bands and university concerts. Melis took vocal lessons from Nilgun Serimoglu, and she started composing and writing lyrics instinctively. She has more than 150 songs so far, as in English and Turkish, some of whose arrangements by her as well. Melis is a coloratura soprano with a bit more than 4 octave vocal range. Her versatile voice allows her to sing in a very wide range of styles such as; RnB, pop, blues, rock, operatic pop and jazz as well as Turkish classical music, Middle Eastern and Arabic music. She uses her powerful chest vocals impressively in power ballads, RnB, and rock songs, while her seamless vibratos and elegantly gliding head vocals also show the quality of her operatic scales. Her talent drew attention by international music authorities as well. By publishing her songs in the internet, she has reached a remarkable amount of audience from 56 countries all around the world, particularly Brazil, Columbia, USA, Britain, Germany, Austria, Japan, Spain, Egypt, UAE.
