Melchior Woltmann (d. 1642) is a sparsely documented seventeenth-century German organist connected with Celle. In the sources most readily traceable today, he is recorded as serving there from 1637 until his death in 1642, and his musical legacy is represented by a single securely attributed organ chorale setting, Von Gott will ich nicht lassen, preserved in the Lüneburg manuscript D-Lr Mus.ant.pract. K.N. 209. Beyond this, little verified biographical detail survives in commonly accessible reference trails, making that lone manuscript transmission central to his modern rediscovery.
