Melanie Scholtz , is a Cape Town born singer from South Africa. Her vibrancy and love for music started at the early age of 5 where she played the piano. In 2000 she walked out with a Cum Laude for a Diploma in Opera and has since demonstrated effortlessly that she is versatile when it comes to any genre of music. Her love for Jazz continues to prevail and has won awards such as Old Mutual Encounters’ Best Vocalist award in 2002. Melanie’s first solo album was released in 2006 ‘Zillion Miles and has recently released her current album ’ Connected’ in February 2010 of which she works closely with her band , ‘The Love Apples’.
