There are 3 bands by the name of Mean Streak: A Hardcore band from New Zealand, a Progressive Rock band from Pennsylvania, and a Swedish Metal band. 1) Mean Streak are a newish Hardcore band from Hamilton. Rising from the ashes of This Is This and containing members from many well known past/current hardcore bands in NZ, they haven't had that much trouble finding their feet and gaining a following in the local hardcore scene. Similar musically to This Is This, Mean Streak seem to be more mature lyrically. Mean Streak's influences include Blood For Blood and Death Threat. 2) Mean Streak is a progressive rock n roll band with punk rock roots stemming from a sleepy west/central Pennsylvania town. The band is currently residing in Pittsburgh and has been writing music together since 1999. The full length album, "Enjoy Your Night," will be released in late 2008. 3)The story begins in the spring of 2006 when Peter Andersson founder of Meanstreak decides that enough is enough, time to write some metal straight from the heart with no other thoughts than making music he truly loves. That music is of course metal with its roots in early/mid eighties. “Rock City” is actually the first song that is written and after finishing the drum programming and the bass/guitars some vocals are needed.
