Me and the Heat is a German new wave band. They created one album named Game of Position. In the mid eighties they achieved a cult status in the Netherlands. They performed on the Pandorra festival where they became the revelation for that year. Influences were said to be Clock DVA and The Box. According to the tourmanager: "Tom Mega spent some time in jail, but was still able to obtain heroin. He requested solitude confinement. That''s where he taught himself to sing. He was a very energetic performer, comparable to Iggy Pop." It is not known if the singer (Tom Mega, aka Tom Meger) is still alive. He is last noted on the web in 2002 for a theater performance. The second album was never created because they only wanted to sign with a major record company. Band members also kept their music teaching jobs and Tom Mega had an heroin addiction.
