This Poland-based American MC, vocalist, and producer achieved wide spread national acclaim in the 1990s as the front-man with Polish funk-rock band “Blenders”. He is now recognized as the first musician to make the cross-over from the commercial music machine to Poland’s underground club scene and continues to gain recognition for his musical creativity. Glenn was also probably the first to MC in Poland to perform regularly in the club-music scene. Besides being the front-man of Blenders, he also has two other bands: “the glennSKii’s” and “Monkey Funks”. Awards: Fryderyk Awards: 1 (2000/2001) (3 nominations) ; Yach Film Festival: 2001, 2003, 2009 ; Polish Dance Awards 2000/2001; Paszport Polityki (nomination with “Jazz Nojz Breaksystem”) mC glennSKii’s musical style fuses Funk, Break-Beat, Nu-Jazz, Hip Hop, and Acid Jazz with North Poland’s unique form of jazz; Yass. His vocals combine freestyling, scat, and rapping in English and Polish as well as the local North Poland dialect/language -- Kaszubian. Throughout his musical career mC glennSKii has collaborated with some of Poland’s foremost musicians and supported many overseas artists as they toured Poland. His creation of Groovekojad and their debut album earned him a Fryderyk Award, the Polish equivalent of a Grammy. Artists that glennSKii has worked with are listed below.
