Mbongwana Star are a 7-piece band from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Formed from the ashes of Congolese tradi-modern stars Staff Benda Bilili, alongside Parisian producer and musician Liam Farrell, aka Doctor L. The resultant sound is a eclectic fusion of traditional Congolese and African rhythms with a big fistful of European post-punk bass and busted electronics.
