Mazapán, formed in 1979, is a Chilean group of children's music. Consisting in its inception of seven female music scholars, the group has incorporated influence from a variety of musical styles and genres, including Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and South American folk. On their four decades long career, Mazapán has amassed an archive of 16 discs; numerous compilations; various TV appearances, ranging from their collaborations with the educational TV project Teleduc in the 1980s, going through their own original shows Masamigos and Mazapán, to their latest appearance in the 2019 Mazapán Animado, co-produced by Chilean studios Pájaro and Fabula; and regular live shows, for which the group has remained relevant and continues to perform to date.
