Mayo Okamoto (岡本真夜, Okamoto Mayo, born January 9, 1974, in Nakamura, Kōchi) is a Japanese pop singer and songwriter. Her 1995 debut single "Tomorrow" peaked at number 1 on the Oricon weekly single charts. She released her greatest hits album Rise 1 in 2000. The album topped the Oricon weekly album charts. She is currently signed under the Nihon Crown record label, and former member of the duo Love Cupids. She made her debut in 1995 under the Tokuma label, but left the label in 2003. After a two year absence from the scene she returned in 2005 and during which she did a short stint signed to avex trax.
