Maximus/Baxter In January 2002 the internet was awash with rumours of the biggest names in Hardcore secretly teaming up to create a ‘Rave Super Group’. With much speculation there was a reason. Simply, masked men met DJs in masks and gave out test presses. These men were CLSM. Through a culmination of crazy stunts, high energy live PA’s, celebrity appearances and of course innovative music, CLSM were about to take the rave scene to new levels. With Hardcore and Hard Dance compilations topping the charts in the UK, CLSM became aware that for a scene with such a vast following there was no dedicated radio show. John Peel was the only radio DJ to play anything with a 4x4 beat over 145 BPM. CLSM then made it their mission via a brainwave to get Hardcore on Radio 1. Their ear opening name checking record ‘John Peel is Not enough’ was not only played by John Peel and Dave Pearce, but was No.9 in John Peel’s coveted and now iconic ‘Festive Fifty’ in 2003. This led to CLSM getting a 2 hour slot on Radio 1. After further talks with Radio 1 they suggested hard dance personality Kutski to front a new monthly show as a platform for the global Hardcore scene...and is now on every week. Fast forward to 2009, CLSM founders Jon Doe and Gavin Foord join forces again to experiment with a variety of new sounds and styles taking in the last 10 years.
