MORTON was founded in 2009, first as the metal-oriented studio project of Max Morton. The primary idea was to collect and improve the material of all the previous bands he was playing in. However, the new ideas and songs appeared during the process of recording, so it became clear that MORTON had to be uprgaded into the live band. That's exactly what happened when Max found Dmitry Smotrov (drums) and Alexander Rudnev (guitars). Both Alex and Dmitry had great talent and common musical tastes. The band started rehearsing intensively, auditioning numerous bass players. At the same time, Max was finishing recording and mixing the debut EP called "Grimoire".
