Maurice And The Cliches were a new wave group from Vancouver, Canada that existed 1978-1987. They had one Billboard Top 100 hit with "Soft Core", and their energetic live shows were consistently well-reviewed. Constant personnel changes, management and distribution issues, and a disastrous relocation to Los Angeles just as glam rock was emerging prevented them from ever achieving mainstream success, but a significant cult following existed until the group's end. The group's fans were known for travelling with the band to catch all their performances. In 2006, Maurice And The Cliches released a remastered best-of compilation with previously unreleased tracks called Flogging A Dead Horse which is available on iTunes, CD Baby, and the group's website. http://www.mauriceandthecliches.com/ User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
