Matthew VandenBrook (born May 21, 1972) is an American musician, composer, producer based in Detroit Michigan. His main instrument is the synthesizer and his music crosses over many genres including ambient, electro, industrial, techno, noise and pop. Matthew began exploring synth driven music immediately after graduating from high school and in 1991 purchased his first synth/sampler, a Casio FZ1. His first record was released in 1996 even though he had recorded with several projects before that. Unfortunately, none of those recording exist today. Influences include Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Harold Budd. VandenBrook is currently attending Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan where he is working towards a B.A. in History. He has never been married and has no children.
