Matthew Frost's unforgettable voice is quite unexpected of a rocker, but very refreshing in the current cookie-cutter industry. Originally trained as a classical and opera singer, he's able to deliver an incredible range with a powerful punch. Refusing to use synthetic instrumentals and vocals, he's going back to the way Rock music was meant to be made and most importantly, heard. Growing up in a small town in Northern Virginia, Matthew always saw big cities like New York, D.C., and Philly just out of his reach but was determined to make things happen. Coming from a family with very little money and 11 siblings, he knew it would be a challenge to pursue his true passion. Although he suffers from severe hearing loss from complications at birth, he grew up with music all around him. Matthew's mother, father, several uncles and grandparents had all been aspiring musicians at one point or another. At the age of 5, Matthew was already listening to artists ranging from The Beatles to The Animals, Elton John to The Grateful Dead, and even Nat King Cole and Madonna. He enjoyed the way the different types of music moved him and kept wanting more. By age 9, Matthew picked up his first violin and from there would go on to learn piano as well. Both instruments gave him an appreciation for classical music and taught him how songs were built and how he could ultimately tear them apart in order to orchestrate his own sound.
