Matt Colvin was born in the foot hills of the Virginia blue ridge mountains were he learned the basics of blues and hard rock, then drifted south to Richmond, Virginia. Where he started playing in original instrumental metal band call Mas Fina. Continueing to play electric blues and jamband acoustic music, he discovered stoner rock and it changed his world, he started a Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age cover band with some friends called fULLPELT. That band sparked the urge to begin is own original stoner rock band and he formed The Continental. Also, had a side project with the same drummer called River Pitts (free flow stoner rock). The Continetal was reformed into a new band called PIke Possum which is currently still putting out the stoner rock metal sludge doom instrumental tunes now. Also along the way for a brief period was back to his metal roots playing and writing in a original metal band called Just Off Idle. While playing in Pike Possum he joined another stoner rock doom band call Fire Faithful and is currently playing in both bands, writing, touring, recording and spreading the stoner rock doom sludge metal to the masses.
