With his debut album, "The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" Matt Batey hits the scene with intricate acoustic sounds and simple, often profound lyrics. At just 18, Matt has written, performed, and self-produced a stunning album with a wide variety of styles incorporated to produce a familiar, yet totally unique sound. Informed by his life growing up in the small town of Helena, Montana, Batey's songs speak to the beauty and heartbreak that are inherent in coming of age in the world of big skies and lost loves. Now based in Washington, with his new band Conservative Dad, Matt brings his engaging and often touchingly humorous live show to the stage.
