Matriark is a Norwegian DJ and producer, member of the Bunkerbauer artist collective and co-runs Malmö/Copenhagen connecting label Megatech Industries. Growing up in Norway to the sound of trance in the 90’s had a significant impact on the artist from the early days. Matriark transformed this passion for trance nostalgia, and quickly built an audience as a DJ and producer since she started in 2019. Her eclectic sets range from hard-trance euphoria, groovy, psychedelic trance, hard hitting techno to contemporary dystopian rave anthems. Matriark is also a rock band formed in 2010 by Malcolm Waters in Stockholm, Sweden. Waters needed a drummer for a gig and called his friend John Thomsen who joined and became a permanent member of the band. The core duo Waters/Thomsen played with different bass players but during the release party of the demo of "Backbone" Malcolm met Felix Bergkrantz who then started playing in the band.
