In the last decade Mathijs played with multiple bands and has worked with several Dutch and Canadian artists, both live and in the studio. Mathijs’ first record ‘The Summer Night’ was released independently in May of 2009 a...nd has been received well by the audience. It is difficult to put ‘The Summer Night’ within a specific genre because stylistic influences range from acoustic, to rock, to blues and even to pop. Mathijs is currently working on a few different projects. One of them being a new Mathijs Paul record. Style wise, the new record will sound quite different from ‘The Summer Night’. Mathijs started incorporating a lot of electric guitar playing into his music over the last year which will give the new record a completely new sound.
