Dutch singer- songwriter, situated in Den Bosch, armed with guitar and blues harp, Mathijs Leeuwis sings about both clichee and awkward topics of every day life. On his way through his musical searchquest, influenced by colleague songwriters as Bob Dylan, Damien Rice and Ryan Adams, Leeuwis passed by multiple musicgenres as rock, jazz and funk, to find a unique style where his lyrics would fit in the best. At the end of the winter in 2009, he released his second album, 'Klei, Stront En Zand'. A complete Dutch-written album, meaning 'Clay, shit and sand', where he writes about embittered old men, scary girls, an overflow of liquor and the Brabantian countryside. Mathijs has arranged some skilfull musicians around him, mostly studieing on the academy of music and rock. Along with his dark smoky voice, the overall sound can be classified as ginuine, deep and full of compassion.
