Mary Timony, formerly of Helium, likes to describe herself as a 12th century maiden fighting a battle to assuage the religious witch hunts of said age. In reality she is a modern day musician from Washington, DC who likes to believe in her ability to defy the constructs of modern music in a completely unique fashion . Releasing albums under the name "Mary Timony" until 2005, 2007 saw the release of "The Shapes We Make" on the Kill Rock Stars Records label using the name Mary Timony Band. The other band members are drummer Devin Ocampo and bassist Chad Molter. Timony handles guitars, vocals and keyboards herself.
