Martyna Basta is a Krakow, Poland-based artist known for her diaristic sound that creates a delicate atmosphere blending lush and haunting elements. Classically trained in guitar, she left formal music education at the age of 18 and began focusing on synthesizers instead. Her approach to composition incorporates modulated voice, electronics, and field recordings. Her debut album, "Making Eye Contact with Solitude," released on the Slovak label Warm Winters, marked her as part of a new wave in the European experimental music scene. Following this release, she reintroduced acoustic instruments such as guitar and zither into her work, developing a distinctive electroacoustic style.
